Ice Box Bran Muffins

Mix together:

 

4 cups 100% Bran

2 cups boiling water

 

Cream:

1 cup shortening

21/2 cups sugar

4 eggs

 

Add: 4 cups buttermilk

 

Sift and add:

5 cups flour

5 t. soda

1 t. salt

 

Add: raisins dates or nuts

 

Mix together and store in a gallon jar. Will keep for a month in the refrigerator.

Spoon into muffin tins. Bake at 550 for 25 minutes or until done.
